You must see that #1 My Top11 movies

Are here any cinema-goers? If yes then it's possible that you're familiar with every movie I am going to mention. But if not then I highly recommend every single one :D Of course, I'm romantic so there have to be some love stories :D Should you not be a fan of this genre just ignore those positions ;) And the rest is a must-watch for every movie enthusiast ;) Let just note in the passing, that the films are presented from newest to oldest.

1. Whiplash (2014)
A promising young drummer enrolls at a cut-throat music conservatory where his dreams of greatness are mentored by an instructor who will stop at nothing to realize a student's potential.
Quite a long time wanted I to watch this movie, but I was a bit sceptic about it. But as soon as I decided to view it I couldn't take my eyes of the screen. I love the productions about eminent individuals (so, please recommend me some :D), especially if we're provided with the whole story that is a part of this eminency striving. The acting is so good that it is impossible not to vare about their lot. And, of course, any Andrew Nemann fans out there? You just MUST see Whiplash.

2. Bogowie (eng. Gods, 2014)
The early career of cardiac surgeon Zbigniew Religa. Despite harsh reality of the 1980s Poland, he successfully leads a team of doctors to the country's first human heart transplantation.
It's the only Polish production in this breakdown. I suppose you are familiar with the Religa name. If not, make sure you'll acquaint yourself with this movie. The description may not be the best. You won't find there any explosions, any chases and any continuous suspense, but you'll for sure find scenes which will make your heart go crazy. After the showing I was lost in admiration and my breath didn't want to come back to regular tempo. Such reaction must mean something ;) And I could not omit mentioning the phenomenal acting of Tomasz Kot. I've always been a huge fan of him, but after Gods I've started to respect him even more.

3. Frozen (2013)
When the newly crowned Queen Elsa accidentally uses her power to turn things into ice to curse her home in infinite winter, her sister, Anna, teams up with a mountain man, his playful reindeer, and a snowman to change the weather condition.
I recommend this production even for those who are not big fans of animated movies. It's perfect for family showing. Beautiful songs (especially their Polish translation and performance), I bet that meny of you have hummed "Let it go! Let it go!" I am aware of the fact that continuous listening to this text may be annoying, but I believe the movie is definately worth seeing. Funny, but with a message - that is what tigers like the most :D I think that not only children may appreciate this feature ;)

4. Inception (2010)
A thief, who steals corporate secrets through use of dream-sharing technology, is given the inverse task of planting an idea into the mind of a CEO.
Obligatory for every Leonardo DiCaprio fan. I adore this actor, that is why I am always up to date with the newest productions starring him. Besides, it's not the only proposition where Leo has the main part. There's nothing more to write about, there's just the need to see the movie! Every showing of the feature allows you to make new discoveries. Some people think that it is even necessary to watch the film multiple times in order to understand the plot. Inception may not have the easiest stories, but the concept is definately extraordinary.

5. Shutter Island (2010)
In 1954, a U.S. marshal investigates the disappearance of a murderess who escaped from a hospital for the criminally insane.
As I have already mentioned today - another item starring DiCaprio. And another absorbing story. If you are into mysteries and enigmas then it's perfect feature fot you. And again, the ending may not be obvious and water clear, but I believe it allows the viewers to show their talents and imagination. The way you interpret the ending depends on how you understand the plot. It's worth to follow Daniels' lot more than once. Each time you'll spot new details which may impact the way you had seen the movie the first time.

6. August Rush (2007)
A drama with fairy tale elements, where an orphaned musical prodigy uses his gift as a clue to finding his birth parents.
Another music drama featurinf eminent individual. As I have said, I love such productions. Many believes that it's too sentimental and sugary. perhaps even unrealistic. Maybe, I am not going to deny it. Nevertheless, there are plenty of scenes which made my heart flutter. And I guess that's the point of shooting a movie - to elicit emotions.

7. The Notebook (2004)
A poor yet passionate young man falls in love with a rich young woman, giving her a sense of freedom, but they are soon separated because of their social differences.
The very first romantic movie on my list. I recommend especially for all the Sparks readers. I haven't had the opportunity to put my hands on the book, but the film version is to my liking. I come back to this production with pleasure and every time ir arouses new emotions. And to every woman out there - a huge advanatge of this feature is Ryan Gosling. I simply love the guy, not only for the way he looks (oh, so handsome), but also for the way he plays. Rachel McAdams doesn't fall behind either and expressively creates the character of Allie. Such on-screen pair must have ended in my Top movies.

8. The Green Mile (1999)
The lives of guards on Death Row are affected by one of their charges: a black man accused of child murder and rape, yet who has a mysterious gift.
I won't believe that there is someone who haven't seen this movie. A classic. It's a movie version of Stephen King's book, which I have not read yet, but the production is worth watching. Everytime I viewed it I cried. I guess it's impossible to stay untouched by the lot of condemned to death John.

9. What's Eating Gilbert Grape (1993)
After his father's death, Gilbert has to care for his mentally disabled brother, Arnie, and his morbidly obese mother, which is suddenly challenged when love walks into his life.
Another phonemenal acting of Leonardo, it's the very fist part he should have won the Oscar award for. I, however, wanted to see this feature for another of my favorites actors, and namely for Johnny Depp. I recommend this movie to all who are of the opinion that he's not a universal actor and is only capable of impersonating the weirdos. This feature is one big refutation of this theory. It's one of the movies that have elicited the most emotions. It's very realistic, mundane. Don't expect having your mind blown by the effects or action. It's a typical drama depicting the lot of ordinary family. A typical drama, but how stunning one!

10. Ghost (1990)
After a young man is murdered, his spirit stays behind to warn his lover of impending danger, with the help of a reluctant psychic.
Perfect showing for every romantic movies fan. It seems like nothing special, but I love to come back to it. There is a possibility that my sympathy to Patrick Swayze is to blame here :D However, the character played by Demi Moore does not lag behind. Intrguing concept, excellent performance and phenomenal acting. If that's not enough encouraging, I'll simply say: every romantic movies fan must, I repeat - MUST, get familiar with this production.

11. Dirty Dancing (1987)
Spending the summer at a Catskills resort with her family, Frances "Baby" Houseman falls in love with the camp's dance instructor, Johnny Castle.
It's a real masterpiece. I am aware of the fact that a wide group of people won't agree, but that's the beauty of having your own opinion ;) Patric Swayze, Jennifer Grey before the nose job (which btw., in my point of view, ruined the uniqeness and one-of-its-kind look of the actress), dancing, brilliand soundtrack. It must have ended like this. It was love from the first wathcing. It's been a few years since then but I believe this movie won't ever get old. It's impossible to count how many times I've seen this feature. And I am completely sure that I'll marvel at beautiful dance routines much more in the future. In all conscience can I say that it's my FAVOURITE movie of all times and it doesn't look like any other production would take Dirty Dancing's very first place on my list :D

Thus, I managed to reach the end of the list. All of the descriptions in quotations are to be find on imdb.

Which of the features have you seen? What do you think about them? What movies do you recommend? What would you add to my list and what do you think is completely redundant here? Please comment on the main post (the one written in Polish; feel free to comment in English).
